Catharsis






Through deep healing, we can sometimes be in a state of catharsis. This is deep release of pent-up energy that is repressed in our system.


In terms of the enneagram, and looking at the 9 types of differing forms of personality, there are three deeply held states of being; three types of deep emotional repression.


These three types of deeply held repressed emotional states are rage, fear, and shame.


For types 9, 8 and 1 rage is the deeply repressed emotion. Getting in touch with your deeper rage will help you to move towards integration of your type, and a greater wholeness.


For types 2, 3 and 4 shame is the deeply repressed emotion. Getting in touch with your deeper shame will help you to move towards integration of your type, and a greater wholeness.


For type 5, 6 and 7 fear is the deeply repressed emotion. Getting in touch with your deeper fear will help you to move towards integration of your type, and a greater wholeness.


Considering which type you are on the enneagram (you can do a test online if need be) will help you to indicate which of these repressed emotional states will lead towards a deep release of that deeply repressed pent-up energy.


And to do this, simply sit or lay down, and get in touch with that deeply repressed emotion.


Once you get in touch with the repressed emotional state, you will know, because you will feel a deep catharsis; a deep release of deeply held energy.


This can be deeply healing, and deeply moving, and will help you to move forward into the future with a greater sense of ease.


Give yourself some time to do this practice, and make sure you are in a comfortable space with no intrusions. Remember to go into the repressed emotional state of your enneagram type, and simply sit or lay there feeling that cathartic release of energy.
